Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026.

This page explains what information the Universal Blind Café website handles, and why. In short: the site has no ads and no tracking scripts, we never sell or share your information, and the forms only collect what you choose to type.

Settings and games saved on your device

Your accessibility settings (text size and theme) and the game scoreboard are saved in your own browser, so they’re still there next time. They never leave your device and we can’t see them. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.

Feedback form

The Feedback page sends what you enter: the category, which part of the Café it’s about, your message and any files you attach. Your name is optional. Resource suggestions ask for your name or Discord username, and an email address only if you ask us to contact you by email.

To prevent spam, the feedback form keeps a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address for a short time, then deletes it automatically. It can’t be turned back into your IP address, isn’t sent with your message and is never shown to anyone.

Report a Concern form

The Report a Concern page never reads your IP address. Reports are anonymous unless you ask us to follow up, in which case we receive the name, Discord username or email address you give us.

Join the Leadership Team form

The Join the Leadership Team page sends the role you’re applying for, where you’d mainly help, your name or Discord username, and your answer (for Hosts, the events you’d like to run). Like the feedback form, it keeps a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address for a short time to prevent spam, then deletes it automatically.

The same forms in our Discord server

The contact channel in our Discord server has the same four forms, sent by The Café Hostess, the Café’s Discord bot. A form sent there always includes your Discord username, which Discord confirms, so it can’t be anonymous. To stay anonymous, use the form on this website instead. The bot also sends you a direct message with your reference code. To space out repeat messages, it remembers when you sent each form (not reports) for a couple of hours, then deletes that.

Names on the forms

The website can’t check that a name typed into one of its forms really belongs to the person sending it. So before the Admin Team acts on anything sent under someone’s name, we confirm it with that person directly.

Where your messages go

Form messages are delivered to private channels in the Café’s Discord server that only the Café Admin Team can see. Every report is visible to all Admin Team members, for transparency. Messages are kept for as long as the Admin Team needs them, and are stored by Discord under Discord’s privacy policy.

Each message gets a reference code, like BR-7K2MX9QPRT: a few letters for the kind of message, then random characters. The site keeps a list of codes already given out, with nothing else attached, so no code is ever used twice.

Services we use

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles standard connection details such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, and may set a short-lived security cookie. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

The Anagram Games page shows a game from Writing Exercises (writingexercises.co.uk), which has its own privacy practices. Links to other websites, such as on our Resources page, are covered by those sites’ own policies.

Questions or removal requests

To ask about something you sent, or to have it removed, contact any admin in our Discord server or send a message through the Feedback page. Include the reference code if you have it.
